Paint life again if it fades

For almost 8 years now the House of Providence Nursing Home in Valea Izvoarelor has been providing a home and a safe environment for elderly whose families, for whatever reason, cannot provide this.

The house is built in a welcoming environment, but despite this, its staff together with volunteers work to make the outside space even more pleasant and welcoming every year. So last summer, a small team of volunteers started to decorate the courtyard, which is surrounded by concrete walls. The project was so successful that we continued it this year at the request of our colleagues. This time, taking into special consideration the mental state and needs of the elderly, we tried to make a bus station and an arriving bus, as realistic as possible, as the elderly really like to wait for the bus and travel – often in the course of time.

As soon as we started working, the team got into an excited mood, namely, that this painting job had a mission, it was not just a simple decoration, so they all gave their best. The day started with a quick brainstorming session and then continued with distributing the tasks. This was followed by dusting the walls and mixing the paints, and then everyone did their best to create the most cheerful, lifelike landscape possible. The heavy work was followed by good vibes and results were like the cherry on the top for all of us, at the end of the day.

Our activities are supported by the Bethlen Gábor Fund. Thank you!
