Tuned up for volunteering – Workshop
We have ended the past week with a very rich two-day meeting. The topic of the meeting was the past, present and the future of volunteering.
These two days consisted of games, exercises, questions and the answers to them. Organizing a roundtable meeting or a workshop in order to gather Caritas regional representatives and volunteer coordinators has been discussed for some time now. Beside the regional representatives and coordinators, directors and sub-directors have also attended the meeting.
It was important to discuss regional questions concerning volunteering, which happened during a two-day meeting organized at Alba Iulia on the 23rd and 24th of June. Beside discussing the volunteers’ work, we also had the opportunity to get to know each other better, as well as to learn about each other’s job. Everyone had the possibility to reflect on their own work throughout the years, to have a glimpse on when, where and why they volunteered throughout their life, on why they began working in their current job at Caritas and on what they do every day to make the world a better place.
The overall opinion of the participants was that volunteering plays an important role in the organization and that managing the volunteers’ work regionally is equally important.
The workshop was very successful, therefore it made us enthusiastic enough to organize a meeting in 2021, where we will look back on the achievements of this year and keep planning ahead. 🙂
