First aid training for our volunteers

Twenty of the Caritas Alba Iulia volunteers from Odorheiu Secuiesc expanded their knowledge with first aid skills. The ten-hour training organized in the second half of November aims to allow young people who are active in the organization to proceed confidently, calmly and professionally in almost any sudden medical emergency that occurs during their voluntary work until further help arrives.

Thanks to their newly acquired knowledge they will know when and how to call an ambulance, how to handle the scene of the accident, what to do in case of severe bleeding, burns or frostbite, how to proceed in case of a fracture, what the symptoms of a heart attack are, how to help an unconscious person or someone having an epileptic seizure and, of course, how to perform CPR.

The indirect goal of the training is to educate self-conscious, determined and focused adults who are not afraid of problems, be it from any area of life.

The volunteers’ participation in first aid training was sponsored by the City Hall of Odorheiu Secuiesc, for which we would like to express our gratitude again.
