Pick a volunteering card!

More than a year ago, we started working with the Talentum Foundation in Szeged to design a board game based on the theme of volunteering. Since then, we have had two workshops and several online meetings, where we had the opportunity to brainstorm, define the basics, design, implement and test the sample board game with groups of young people.

Another four-day workshop took place in Gyula in between the 10th – 13th of January.

At the beginning of the meeting, we summarized the feedback we received from the participants during the testing process of the board game, discussed what we could include in the game and defined what should be incorporated in the methodological guide.

This was followed by a further test with an improved example of the game, including design elements. A group of 12 students participated in this process. 6 students came from the Bethlen Gábor College from Aiud and 6 students from the Youth Centre from Gyula. As a result of the work with the young people, we are summarizing the modifications that are still needed, which is another step towards the board game being ready for publication soon.

In the final part of the workshop, we summarized the proposals for the final modification of the design elements and we scheduled the remaining work of the project.

Overall, we’ve had a meaningful, useful and dynamic four days and we can conclude that the results of our work are starting to come in.

For the rest of the project, the focus will be on printing the game and on organizing an online and an in-person session in order to introduce and promote it.

The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme (2022-1-HU01-KA210-YOU-000081331, Pick a volunteering card!). Thank you!
